- 2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes

- 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme
- 4 cups of beef broth
- 1 cup of white rice
- 2 cups of water

Method
- Season the beef with salt and pepper, and brown it in a skillet over medium-high heat. Transfer the meat to the crock pot.
- Add onions, carrots, potatoes, and garlic to the crock pot.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and thyme. Pour the mixture over the beef and vegetables in the crock pot.
- Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 6-7 hours, or until the beef is tender.
- About 30 minutes before serving, rinse the rice and add it to the crock pot with 2 cups of water. Stir well.
- Re-cover the crock pot and continue cooking for another 30 minutes, or until the rice is cooked through.
- Once the rice is cooked, stir the stew well and serve hot.
