Ingredients

  • 2 cups of basmati rice

  • 1/2 cup of yogurt

  • 1/4 cup of cashews
  • 1/4 cup of raisins

Method

  1. Wash the basmati rice in cold running water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes.

  3. Add minced garlic, ginger, and chopped green chilies. Sauté for a few seconds.

  8. Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and cook on low heat for 20-25 minutes or until the rice is fully cooked and the water has been absorbed.
  9. In the meantime, heat some ghee in a skillet or frying pan. Add cashews and raisins and fry until they turn golden brown.
  10. Garnish the cooked Basmati Rice Biryani with fried cashews and raisins before serving.
