- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 2 bay leaves
- 4 cups cooked white rice

Method
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and pepper. Add the beef and toss to coat.
- In a Dutch oven or heavy-bottomed pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes.
- Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, thyme, and bay leaves. Bring to a simmer.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until the beef is tender.
- Remove the thyme sprigs and bay leaves. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
- Serve the beef and gravy over the cooked rice.
